Kim Ketola’s commentary on life issues in the news on Dr. Bill Maier Live July 28
Every Thursday morning at 6:30 CT I guest on Dr. Bill Maier Live to comment on some of the top stories. Today:
- the problem with “personally pro-life” politicians
- privatizing abortion research
- charges dropped against Planned Parenthood whistleblower David Daleiden
Here’s the audio from today’s segment:
There’s a logical flaw at the heart of the idea that a politician can be personally opposed to it but still support legal abortion. One question needs to be answered. Why oppose it, if it’s not wrong?
If you read between the lines into the privitazation of science, it becomes clear how that spells the end of unbiased research, including researching the impact of abortion on the health of women who choose it. The New York Times warned about public health implications of privately funded research in 2014. The liberal journalism non-profit outlet Propublica reports this week how it works with abortion in particular thanks to $1.5 billion from Warren Buffett’s philanthropy (hint the $458M to Planned Parenthood). Mother Jones co-sponsored this investigative report and noted that the Supreme Court relied heavily on such research in deciding the Hellerstedt case against the Texas abortion safety standards law. Science is for sale: learn how that works and why it matters.
Finally, Planned Parenthood whistleblower David Daleiden prevailed against cronyism in the Texas justice system. All charges against him were dropped this week for his undercover work to expose PP illegal practices related to fetal remains in their abortion businesses.
The big takeaway: God says in Proverbs 24 we’re called on to rescue the weak. If we say we don’t know what’s happening to the prenatal children dying in abortions, “Will not he who guards your life know it?” [emphasis mine] I hope you are inspired to speak up. The conversation will perhaps get heated, but God who guards your life will guard your life. I also know many stay silent due to abortion in their past. You are not alone and there is hope.
