Cradle My Heart Radio welcomes activist and life advocate Kristan Hawkins on January 18 at 9 pm ET
What were you doing to change the world during your high school years?
Kristan Hawkins was setting down roots that would lead to college campuses becoming the heart of the abortion battle in America.
The vision is not just reducing the number of abortions–but completely abolishing abortion in our lifetime. Kristan has been rallying young people to this cause as President of Students for Life of America since 2006. But her work to enjoin the battle began in her own youth.
Now her organization and team are exposing the abortion industry, rallying students to action, and engaging the debate through effective strategic events and social media engagement. It’s an outreach that is critical given SFLA’s research which shows 47% of students enter college as pro-life, but only 27% will graduate still holding to prolife beliefs.
From Kristan’s bio:
Kristan Hawkins is President of Students for Life of America (SFLA). Since launching SFLA’s full-time operation, Kristan has helped more than triple the number of campus pro-life groups in the United States, from 181 to almost 800 in 49 states, and grow the SFLA National Conference from 450 in 2007 to 2,000 in 2012, making the event the largest pro-life conference in the nation. In 2013, she authored SFLA’s first book Courageous: Students Abolishing Abortion in this Lifetime. Kristan and her team have launched Med Students for Life, Law Students for Life, and Pregnant on Campus, a transformative initiative which strives to connect young women in need on campus to those in the community. Before coming to SFLA, Kristan worked for the 2004 Bush/Cheney re-election campaign, the Republican National Committee, and served as a political appointee in the George W. Bush administration at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Center for Faith-Based and Community Initiatives. Kristan’s work and passion for the unborn has been featured in numerous publications, most recently in National Review Online, the Washington Times, Citizen Magazine and The Blaze. Kristan resides in the Minneapolis area with her husband, Jonathan, and 3 sons, Gunner, Bear, and Maverick.
Plan now to listen this Sunday and join us as we welcome this truth-teller and hero of the faith.
