What is the impact of a single act of kindness?
Throughout time God has used the wounded to help and lead those who are struggling–even when those wounds are self-inflicted. Rather than living a life limited by the mistakes of the past, here’s hope for impacting the world by serving others out of the overflow of God’s love in our hearts. The Let Love Love You music video reflects the connections all around us which we may seldom see.
The message: small gestures of love, even sharing a single rose, may not save the world, but they most certainly can save the day. This simple story is my hope for all of us who have ever felt disqualified from serving or sharing because of the mistakes and wrongs of our past. When we receive God’s love it flows from us, and you never know where the ripples will go.
The story is written and directed by Rick Barron, producer for the 5-song EP Let Love Love You. Barron’s credits include a successful career as a vocalist and songwriter working with such diverse artists as Johnny Lang and LeAnn Rimes. He served as producer and co-writer of Man Up by Ben Utecht, featuring the single You Will Always Be My Girls. The music video for My Girls co-written and produced by Barron, went viral within weeks of its release and has now gained over one million You Tube views.
Filmed on location in historic Hastings, Minnesota, the cast features singer-songwriter Kim Ketola and Steve Goold, moonlighting from his work on tour as drummer for Sara Barellies. Other cast members are Grace Barron, Chuck Laubersheimer, and Irene Shackman.
Picture Factory‘s Craig Peterschmidt and Jillian Nodland bring production expertise and excellence to the project, having worked together filming events as large-scale as the international Olympics, and music videos for U2, Tori Amos, the Beach Boys and many other international stars.
Let Love Love You – The Music Video releases in January 2015.
About Let Love Love You, the EP
Producer Rick Barron from Minneapolis and Nashville is key to this effort, contributing his talents as writer and co-writer, playing acoustic guitar and background vocals. His credits include working with LeAnn Rimes, Bryan White, Journey, Jonny Lang, and many others. Rick brings journeyman players to this project including:
• Steve Brewster on drums (Bob Seger, Michael W. Smith, Sara Groves, Amy Grant)
• Paul Peterson on bass (Gavin DeGraw, Jonny Lang, Anita Baker, Paula Abdul)
• Jerry McPherson on guitars (Jewel, Faith Hill, Martina McBride, Toby Keith)
• Derek Nakamato on keyboards and string arrangements (Michael Bolton, the O’Jays, Jim Brickman).
I believe these lyrics and vocals are inspired and hope you will find them inspiring, coming straight from the heart. My early radio career as a disc jockey and music director helped hone my ear for songs with staying power and messages that matter. God’s love has restored the songs in my heart, and I continue to develop my musical skills studying voice with Lisa Kelly of Celtic Woman fame.
As an advocate for prevention of abortion and spiritual healing in the aftermath, I partner with local and national ministries to help create awareness and promote our healing hope. Proceeds from sales of the EP will go to support the work of the pregnancy help movement. I am so grateful to share in offering women and men a true choice through local pregnancy resource centers.
